Pacom has the most extensive communication repeater services available in PNG with our main Burns Peak (Port Moresby) site operating over 240 commercial repeaters on 3 separate towers.
In addition to our commercial services Pacom also provide site infrastructure for privately and Government owned repeaters at the same locations. The level of design and maintenace that goes into all
of our repeater facilities is second to none with the national standard being based on our system installation and practices. Many other service provider companies in Port Moresby actually
utilise Pacom repeaters and re-sell services to their customers. Our Burns Peak site being the major site of communications in Port Moresby is well protected with multiple fences and access systems including monitored 24/7
cameras, static guards, telemetry, and guard dogs.
Our repeater facility on the top of Mount Albert Edward (13,400 feet ASL) provides extreem range capabilities with communications by two-way being possible between a hand held radio in Port moresby and a base radio in Lae.
The primary purpose however of the Albert Edward site is to provide radio coverage into the Northern (Oro) province as well an extensive area of Central Province. Some companies have opted to link multiple radio coverage
areas through the Albert Edward system to provide wide area communications.
Other sites in Lae, Mandang, and Goroka are equally impressive in turns of coverage and performance. The Lae site offering coverge well through Morobe Province as the Madang turnoff. For services in Mt. Hagen, Rabaul/Kokopo,
Wewak, and other locations, Pacom will contract with local service providers and offer repeatre services to our customers as required. Where extensive communications requirements in specialist locations is required Pacom
will consider the establishment of a new facility however, due to site security issues in PNG it is standard practice to offer a complete repeater solution to our customers so they may establish their own service.
